Organ System Main Functions:
The circulatory system is a vast network of organs and vessels that is responsible for the flow of blood, nutrients, oxygen, other gases, and hormones to and from cells. Without the circulatory system, the body would not be able to fight disease or maintain a stable internal environment-such as proper temperature and pH-known as homeostasis.
Heart Main Functions:
The heart in the circulatory system pumps blood through the arteries. The hear cooperates with the arteries to get to the blood throughout the whole body. Blood releases carbon dioxide and absorbs oxygen. The hear is important because as mentioned before it's in charge of the blood-the blood is important and responsible for different things. People need blood to get oxygen needed to breathe and so if you don't have it you can be in danger of death. Also, blood releases carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide is a gas that there shouldn't be too much of in your body because you would also be in danger so the heart is very important.

Other organs in the system:
If the heart fails you'll have hear failure, which is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. In some cases, the heart can't fill the body with enough blood. In other cases, the heart can't pump enough blood to the rest of the body with enough force. Some people have both problems. Heart failure requires medical care but it doesn't mean that your heart has stopped or is about to stop working.
Why does this organ fail?
Heart failure develops over time as the heart's pumping action grows weaker. The condition can affect the right side of the heart only, or it can affect both sides of the heart. Most cases involve both sides. Right-side hear failure occurs if the heart can't pump enough blood to the lungs to pick up oxygen. Left-side heart failure occurs if the heart can't pump enough oxygen-rich blood to the rest of the body. Right-side and left-side heart failure may cause shortness of breath and fatigue(tiredness).
Possible Causes:
- Lungs: a pair of spongy air-filled located on either side of the chest and allows oxygen to enter and carbon dioxide to exit.
- Vessels: Carry blood away from the heart
- Veins: Carry blood back to the heart

Possible Causes:
- Coronary Heart Disease and Heart Attack
- High Blood Pressure; Hypertension
- Faulty Heart Valves
- Damage To The Heart Muscle; Cardiomyopathy
- Myocarditis
- Heart Problems You're Born With; Congenital Heart Effects
- Abnormal Heart Rhythms
